Move aside Wolverine, a new kind of comic book hero is about to blast onto the scene this Fall. Keep an eye out for Logicomix – An Epic Search for Truth. This new graphic novel tells the epic tale of leading early 20th Century mathmeticians and philosophers doing battle with the foundations of reality and mathematics. Not unlike our costumed super heros, like Batman, Spiderman and Wolvie, super thinkers like Bertrand Russell, Wittgenstein, Whitehead, and Godel, struggled against things natural and unnatural, testing themselves and their very sanity. Amanda tells me that the Burke library will be able to get this title when it is released in September. Sounds almost as good as The Manga Guide to Statistics, which also graces the library’s shelves!
