Julian Beever is an artist. Well, there’s more to it than that. His work includes drawing, street art, neurology, politics, humor, etc. On the ‘surface’ his art is fun. But it also raises questions about what lies beneath, what it means to see, and the meaning of art – especially when that art disappears in days, if not hours. One of his specialties is drawing with chalk on sidewalks around the world to make “anamorphic illusions drawn in a special distortion in order to create an impression of 3 dimensions when seen from one particular viewpoint.” What’s that mean?
