Burke has had a Habitat for Humanity Club Chapter since early 2008 (thanks Max!), and today held one of its most successful and well attended build days yet, with 19 people (a new record!) from the Burke community showing up to help. An amazing mix of parents, students and faculty contributed on this beautifully clear and sunny Saturday morning to help build scaffolding, sand, dig, paint and hammer so that DC families can live and enjoy affordable housing. You can read more about the important work being done by Habitat for Humanity at www.dchabitat.org, and of course check out some great pictures at Burkepix. A big thanks to students: Daniel J-V, Simon, Daniel S, Matt R, Savannah, Hannah, Ari, James, Michael C., Forrest and Paul S., parents: John (father of Charlie’16), Darsie (mother of Arden’10), Latonya (mother of Malcolm’14), Judy O’Keefe (wife of Steve-Math) and Rod (husband of Amanda-Library), faculty members David Panush and Steve O’Keefe and Logan and Jenna at Habitat for Humanity.
