This week’s Edmundification takes Jesse Hart… to the mats. Burke.Word doesn’t take this match “lightly” — Jesse, a Senior, led the Burke wrestling team and is a 2009 All DC grappler. In fact, dear reader, Jesse, in true Hulk Hogan fashion, challenges Ramaz to a cage match below. Never one to directly avoid a challenge, Ramaz prefers to subtly change the subject and note that JHart, one of 3 Burke boys, brings the same Hoganesque frenzy to his work in the Burke community and the classroom.
What is the most embarrassing song on your ipod?
Well, there are too many to count. Were I to choose from the ones I listen to often, I would say that there is a tie between “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” and “You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman.”
Who’s on your list of Fave Five people of all time?
Of all time? That’s a toughie. Here is a list of five people whom I really admire:
My older brother, Gandhi, Ernest Hemingway, Ellen DeGeneres, and Congressman Barney Frank. *Disclaimer – This list is constantly changing and subject to change.*
I wish I knew how to…
Play the piano well. I took lessons when I was a little girl but definitely would like to learn for real.
What was the best present that you received when you were young?
Probably a remote control car when I was six or seven. I lived for those toys.
Tell us a piece of good or bad advice you’ve received that will stay with you.
“Always and never are two words that you should always remember never to use.”
What can’t you live without?
Sweetgreen. I go there at least three times a week.
What do you really care about?
Many, many things. First and foremost, I care about my family and friends. I also care about music, math, Spanish, veganism, helping others, the environment, staying healthy, soccer, wrestling, YOGA, and being authentic.
Is there other sentient life out in the universe? – What’s it like?
Of course there is. They are probably wondering the same thing.
Do you sing in the shower or the car?
Car. It’s horrific, especially when I pull out my falsetto. You really do not want to witness me listening to “White Sky” (by Vampire Weekend) or any songs by Mika when I’m alone in my car. The squirrels in the road actually try to jump in front of my car’s tires.
What mild mannered person at Burke is secretly a super hero? What’s their power? What’s their super name?
Mike Bender (Grade 12) is actually the great “Mike Bender the Bike Mender.” His bike mending powers will astonish you. Side-note: I also have a theory that Paul K WAS Don Draper in the 60s.

JHart - one, two, THREE
Truth is…
a powerful aphrodisiac.
Why wrestling?
Why do anything? Because it is enjoyable or it is beneficial. For me, wrestling is both. There is nothing more exhilarating than pinning another wrestler.
Who would you like to wrestle at least one time?
You, Ramaz. I’m waiting.
If you changed your name – what would it be?
Brock Lee.
What’s your favorite spot at or near Burke?
The picnic tables on the side of the old building. Just a very serene spot.
If you could change one thing about education what would it be?
It’s cost.
Tell us about a time when you were really happy.
Living in a small beach town in Spain for a month. Great summer. Hemingway anyone?
What scares you the most?
Homophobic political leaders. Freddy and Jason as well. Come to think of it…
Close your eyes…. Open them. What did you see?
Freddy and Jason. AH.
What question would you like to ask the next Edmundification Celebrity?
Who is your biggest role model (at Burke)? Fyi, I have several, including Steve, Sam Ross, Aaron P, and Avé, etc.
[Editor: a personal note to Hulk Hartheimer from Ramaz - "Anytime, anywhere, anything goes (if my mom's ok with it)."

“It’s cost”?
….
Ironic.
