This past Friday marked the 3rd and final ‘episode’ of the ’09-’10 season of Burke Talent Shows. The proceeds from Friday’s show went to Rachael’s Women Center. In addition to a great dinner, the performers served up a steamin’ hot stew of: Jazz, blues, rock, bop, hip hop, Toy Story, yo-yo, modal, No. 9 coal, ambient, Turkish, Spektor, Death Cab… it was all Sublime and should have been ‘On the Radio.’ Props to all the performers, community service students who helped, and a special huzzah to Nigel (Box Car Willie), Thew (Mr. Piano Man), Corey (Shop Steward Performing Arts Union, Local #007), Tarheel John and, of course, Duran Duran, who for the occasion found a shiny brown hat to match his Z.
