Tuesday night was the annual end of year Burke Board of Trustees get-together. The event is always a happy, though somewhat bittersweet, one, as the Board bids a fond farewell and thanks to hard working departing members – but also gets to say “welcome” to new (unsuspecting) Trustees.
This year Eva H. and Nathan Z. said goodbye – but only after doing a great job helping out on everything from providing a (wonderful) home for Winter Formal to helping formulate Burke’s budgets.
But, on the bright side, the board is lucky to greet three great new members to fill their able shoes:
- Gerunda Hughes, Director of Institutional Assessment and Professor in the Education Dept. at Howard University;
- Julia Wessel, Burke grad 2004 and now working on child development and education policy issues; and
- Serena Wiltshire, Burke parent and volunteer supreme at Burke and other local schools and organizations
